I started out using the recipe on the bag of chocolate chips, but they always came out "flatter than pancakes." So I decided to start experimenting and this is what I ended up with:
Favorite Chocolate Chip Cookies
Makes: Approx. 3 dozen
What you need:
3/4 cup butter, softened 1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 cup granulated sugar 1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar 2 cups chocolate chips
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. maple extract
2 eggs
2 1/4 + 2 tbs. flour
Directions:
- Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla and maple extract in a large bowl with mixer until creamy. Add eggs; beat well.
- Stir together flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually add to butter mixture, beating until well blended. Stir in chocolate chips.
- Drop by tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely.
- Enjoy!
