Meal Plan Monday & Grocery Challenge Week #1 - June 20



I am very excited to participate in the All You Grocery Challenge during the next four weeks.  What I like about this challenge is that contestants won't be judged only on how much they spend, but also on creativity and healthy choices.  It is definitely going to take some creativity to stay on budget during our vacation next week!  Each family can spend $25 per person per week.  I am allowed $100 a week for my family of 4 {includes eating out}. 


I plan the meals for the week based on what I have on hand and the sales at the grocery stores.  Stockpiling is another way that I have been able to save on my grocery bill--I watch for sales on items that we use a lot and match the sale with a coupon and buy extra to keep in the cupboards.  This week I've included a list of my grocery purchases.  There are many ingredients that you won't see on the list because I already had them on hand in my stockpile!

Amish Baked Oatmeal--we tried this for the first time last week and loved it!

  --Bananas $.59/lb. and used $1 off Hannaford produce coupon. Total paid: $.99
  --Bagels 6 ct. paid $1.67 at the local bread outlet store

Friday:
    Potluck BBQ with friends.

Saturday:
    BBQ Chicken Sandwiches {use leftover BBQ chicken}, Coleslaw

   Leftovers
